About The Tour
YG's GO LOKO tour will be just over a week long tour, where we will be focusing on the West Coast Region. The tour will occur in July of 2021, just after festival season. The vision of this tour is for YG to create a kick back vibe to his earlier music days, and his political stance on the election. When it comes to politics, his voice is very outspoken and so this will be more personal as the west coast is where he grew up. Vince Staples has the same political stance with YG, and while he is more poetic in his music, their personalities easily bounce of each other for this tour.
Tour Production & Vision
For our west-coast YG tour, we decided to use pyrotechnics at outdoor venues. The rationale for this is pretty common sense; we want explosions for the fans and we don’t want to burn a roof down doing it. YG, like many other hip-hop acts, often use pyrotechnics at their live events to help add excitement to the show itself and make the fans feel like they are part of a special moment. For our indoors shows, since we cannot use pyrotechnics, we opted for synchronized lighting. This will help to give a similar effect as the pyrotechnics would, without putting the fans, performer or staff in any danger. For both indoor and outdoor shows, we will also enlist the support of back-up singers and dancers. Even though most hip-hop acts are centered around the artist performing themselves, rarely are they on stage by themself with no support. The dancers will help to bring energy to the stage and will also help keep the fans engaged in the show. Furthermore, the back-up singers/vocalists will add another element of excitement to the show by leading the fans in whatever action they are doing (i.e raising and waving their hands, lighters up, mosh-pit, etc.). Another idea that we had to add even more excitement to the show, was to bring along an unannounced co-performer in the middle of YG’s set. This move will add extra values to the fans who paid good money for their tickets and will make them feel like they got more than their money’s worth by coming to the show; because instead of one performer, they get two!

Tour Dates & ROuting
July 11. Phoenix, AZ @ The Talking Stick Resort Arena - We wanted to travel up along the coast. so naturally, we decided on starting at the most southern location of the tour. We chose the Talking Stick Resort arena due to its large capacity, since we anticipate a large crowd.

July 7. Long Beach, CA @ Long Beach Performing Arts Center - We chose this location since it is located in California and a large amount of YG’s fanbase is located within the city. We decided to do the show at Long Beach Performing Arts Center Arena due to having a large capacity.

July 13. Los Angeles, CA @ The Greek - Afterwards, we head out to Los Angeles. This market is an obvious choice whenever going through California, especially since it is the biggest market in California. Our venue choice here was The Greek. We chose it for its rich history as a venue and also due to the great view offered.

July 14. Santa Barbara, CA @ Santa Barbara Bowl -
Santa Barbara is known for being a college town, which is a demographic that most of our audience fits into. For this location we decided on the Santa Barbara Bowl as our venue. Similar to The Greek, we chose the venue for the amazing views and also for its rich history as a concert venue.

July 16. Bakersfield, CA @ Central Park in Mill Creek - From Santa Barbara we went onto Bakersfield. Like previous entries, it is a city in California where a large concentration of YG’s fan base is located. For our venue here we chose Central Park at Mill Creek. We chose this location due to the size and scenery of the park.

July 17. San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield - Naturally, our next location was San Francisco. We chose this market as well due to YG’s popularity in the area, in addition to it being one of the bigger markets in California. For our venue we decided on The Warfield. It is a beautiful amphitheater with great acoustics, and similar to previous entries, has a great history as a concert venue.

July 18. Oakland, CA @ The Fox Theatre - For our last show in California, we went on to Oakland. Oakland was a natural pick for us since YG also has a large amount of fans concentrated in that area. For our venue, we chose the Fox Theatre. The Fox Theatre is recognized as being a favorite amongst touring artists and we wanted to give our fans a special experience for the last show in California before we headed off to Portland.
July 20. Portland, OR @ Moda Center - We chose Portland since it is the next biggest hip-hop market along the west coast traveling upwards from Oakland. For our venue in Portland we chose to perform at the Moda Center. We chose the Moda center due to its large capacity.

July 21. Tacoma, WA @ Cheney Stadium - After Portland, we went over to Tacoma, Washington. We chose Tacoma due to it being a college town where a large amount of our demographic is located. For our venue we had Cheney Stadium. We chose it since it has a decent capacity and no roof.

July 22. Seattle, WA @ The Showbox - Our very last show was in Seattle. We chose Seattle since it was the last large hip-hop market heading up from Tacoma. For our venue, we chose The Showbox due to its history as a great concert venue.

Marketing
Our strategy is to put YG at the forefront of mainstream youth media. Selecting the outlets we chose will ensure his social relevance and presence, as well as drive up ticket sales for the tour.
Radio: We aim to get YG airplay on 93.1 Jack FM, 97.1 FM AMP Radio, and 102.7 KIIS-FM approximately two weeks out from embarking on tour. The fee per radio station is approximately $70/week + $500 one-time digital delivery fee.
Publicity: We are going to book YG to make an appearance on Sway’s Universe (talk show) to talk about his new album and tour right before or during tour. We are also going to get him on Pitchfork’s YouTube series “Over Under” to show his audience more of his personality and humor. Finally, we are going to get a cover on “FADER Magazine”, due to the magazine’s impact on music, style, and culture. The appearances are cost free, and the FADER feature will be about $7,000.
Direct Marketing: We will use http://mailchimp.com for an email campaign. The monthly cost is around $1,000.
